I started making bullets in 1989. There was a need for lighter bullets made for deer-size game and practice. These were made in .416 cal. as I have found the light .416 cal. bullets work great in reducing felt recoil and cost.
We now offer bullets in .308 to .458 and they are sold worldwide. we are always adding new bullets to our line, and we offer custom weights and styles!
At Northern Precision, our Custom Swaged Bullets are made one at a time in Corbin dies under high pressure. There is no heat involved. Each one is individually inspected and then packaged.
Round Nose bullets are made for shorter range good in thick cover.
With Bonded Core, each jacket is heat-bonded to its core, forming a one-piece bullet. The expansion of the jacket pulls the lead with it, resulting in perfect expansion with nearly 100% retained weight.
Ultra Low Drag are for long range targets these have a very high b.c.
Flat tip are made for tube magazines on lever actions and handguns.
The Poly Ball (a special linear-linked polyethylene sphere) in the tip of the bullet protects the bullet nose during handling and feeding, and drives back into the lead core on impact, acting like a flexible wedge to help open the bullet for uniform expansion.
Thin jackets are made for thin skin game like dear size game. Also for targets.
Hollow points have cavity in lead core at tip of bullet for fast expansion.
Heavy Tapered Jacket bullets are made for large game like moose large bear where deep penetration is needed.
The Base Guard™ design features a lead bullet with a bore-cleaning disk attached firmly to the base by means of a perfectly centered rivet, formed from the bullet material itself. The Base Guard™ bullet can be fired nearly as fast as a jacketed one, without fouling the bore: in fact, it helps clean the bore on every shot by scraping out previous fouling! For low cost and good performance, try the Base Guard™: easy on the softer steels used in turn-of-the-century guns, too! For 1400 FPS or lower.
The Sabre Star tip design features a "sabre-tooth" tip with a series of sharp points around a deep hollow cavity, designed for consistent jacket opening and fold-back even at modest speeds. This is an ideal defense handgun or varmint rifle bullet feature: try a box today!

These bullets are real beauties and perform as good as they look…we were able to get over 2300 fps with the 270 grain bullet and over 2200 fps with the 330 grain. In terms of accuracy, we are dealing here with field or hunting accuracy rather than bench rest…I was very pleased with your product and would recommend Northern Precision bullets to anyone without reservations. They are the best .416 bullets I have tested to date.
